Leonard Bade first worked in the treatment field at the Menninger Psychiatric Hospital in 1975 in the Alcoholic Recovery Program. He has a 35-year affiliation in various capacities with the Betty Ford Center, including serving as the Vice President of Alumni Services and envisioning and implementing one of the most dynamic alumni long- term recovery support programs in the behavioral health industry. This program maintained an eighty-percent continuous recovery rate for over ten years.
He has served on numerous recovery advisory boards and is highly-respected as a specialist in long-term recovery solutions. In 2010 he co-founded the Treatment Professionals in Alumni Services, TPAS, which continues to document a rich, in-depth body of long-term recovery knowledge and practices for the first time in the treatment industry.
In 2010 he completed his Masters in Organization Development from Pepperdine Graziadio School of Business. His Master’s thesis, Extending the Benefits of Alcohol and Drug Treatment: An Exploration of Volunteer Utilization and Delivery of Recovery Services, informs his work in behavioral health and addiction recovery. In addition to his work in the recovery field, he is noted for his work with organizations facilitating dynamic strategies; leadership development; creating cultures of collaboration, accountability, and service to ensure organizational strategies are aligned. His work has received acclaim in state, national and international forums. He specializes in consulting with executives that may be affected by addictions and other behavioral health issues.
Leonard is a lead facilitator, with Dr. Rodney Napier, of the preeminent five-day Group Leadership Intensive, GLI, a legendary 40-year signature process that is deeply transformational and the launching platform for extended executive and recovery enrichment programs.
